3 Kids & an Update!

Okay, so I won't lie... we had a great time this weekend!  There were moments where I felt the weight of being a "parent" to 3 children, but mostly the responsibility that these children were in our care!  Makes me have soooo much respect for parent's, especially stay at home moms!  Richard and I both learned so much from these kiddos, and although I slept in this morning in my comfy bed, and pressed the snooze buttom more times than I can count... I have to say I miss them!  I actually missed waking up bright and early to three kids smiling faces, and fixing them breakfast, and rocking to sleep one and tucking the others in!  It makes Richard and I even more thrilled to have some of our own!  I felt soooo proud of my husband for ALL that he did this weekend.  He was on diaper duty, while I took the responsibility of preparing meals, bottles, etc.  I'm pretty sure I got the good end of the stick!

But in all honesty, we had a great time and learned some pretty cool stuff about parenting.  When we got home last night... Richard looked at me and with all seriousness said, "I can't wait to be a dad!"  Let me tell you... I can't wait to see him be a dad!  He is going to be an awesome parent and incredible leader to our children one day!  I look forward to raising our babies together, hopefully VERY soon!

Until then... Happy Monday!

1 Week Countdown!

So stinkin happy we only have one week to wait before starting our home study!  Truth be told, I'm a little nervous!  I know I shouldn't be, but I am. The stand still that we were on, expecting that nothing would start until December or January... well... it had me expecting the worse.  I tried not to think it would be possible for things to start sooner, because then I knew I'd get my hopes up and be crushed [again].  So.. I'm glad I though negatively!  ha That's a first!

But in all seriousness... its exciting!  Because, now the ball is moving again and our journey to meet our baby is now one step closer!  Its exciting, while at the same time... pretty scary.  I have been meeting so many wonderful ladies at church lately through various things.  I'm so excited to have that support and advice from other moms.  The hard (although good) part is that I hear all about the not-so-good days.  It is helping to prepare me though.  Nonetheless, I'm glad to be in the place right now.

So... all you moms or soon-to-be moms.... what sort of tips or advice do you have to share?  Any parenting advice or things we should be doing to prepare for a little one?  All comments are welcome!

Until then... Brantley

Baby Talk

Every day that passes by, I feel more and more like I'm about to be a mom!  Its so crazy to think about some days, yet such a beautiful reality!  The other day I got this in the mail.  ha

And right smack on the cover reads... "What kind of mom will you be?"

To be honest, I haven't thought too much about what kind of mom I'll be.  More than anything, I wander, what kind of baby will ours be?  Its strange to see where my head goes, but its the truth.  Regardless, the fact of the matter, my head thoughts should probably be focusing more of what kind of mom I will be.  After all, this is all so new to me and I still have a lot to prepare myself for.  I hope and pray I can be a mother who seeks after Christ daily and sets beautiful example for our children.  I want to be mother who loves their daddy and shows them how to be a wife.  I want to be kind mother who is respectful and patient (baahahha - something I have a LOT to learn about!).  I pray God will mold me into this woman. I know that these will be a daily battle for me, but I know with Him, it is possible.

So, I leave you with this today.  "What kind of mom do you want to be?" or possibly even, "What kind of mom are you?"

Until then, Brantley
