We're so excited about the newest "redo" at our house! We live in a pretty small house, two bedrooms with a spare room. The spare room is technically a "walk through bedroom". Something that is considered common in houses built in the late 60's, early 70's. (which is our house) Anyway, its not very functional as a bedroom (as far as we're concerned), so we recently turned it from our catch all... or junk room into Katherine Grace's new playroom! This is the only room in our house with the wood paneling. When we first bought this house, we painted it this guacamole green color and felt it gave it a slightly better look! :) Below... you will see the before and after pics... along with what we spent on our "playroom on a budget"!
Check it out!
I won't lie... I'm a little embarrassed to even show you the before shots!
See what I mean by catch all!
And now... here are the AFTER shots! Much better... if I must say so myself!
Here is a mini breakdown of what we did!
Rug was by far our best find! We spent $19 on it from Ikea! LOVE. And... its super soft for our little lady to crawl around on! Plus... I love the modern look, yet practicality of it as well!
Next, you'll notice the large cubed wall unit. We love this and spent $129 (also from Ikea).
The toys were all hand me downs or shower gifts.
The bins were from Bed, Bath & Beyond... those were a little pricey at $12.95 each.
Curtains... from before.
We also saved by not repainting the room! We love this guacamole color green... and the bins compliment it perfectly!
A sweet knob decor, or even ornament if desired that a friend made for Katherine Grace after we brought her home! I absolutely LOVE how thoughtful she was... she hand painted the mural on it that is in her nursery!
Wall of pictures we grouped by year! Some favorites starting with our honeymoon... up until Katherine Grace's Gotcha Day! I love this clean, simple approach to showing off your memories!
And of course... let us not forget the reason we created this adorable playroom! The star herself... Katherine Grace! :) We found the fun, squishy play mats at WalMart for $5 for a pack of 9! Another great buy!
So... how do you think we did? All of this was created today! Not bad for a day's work! :)
Until then... Brantley

Brantley,
This is beautiful! We are looking to change up our nursery just a bit and that bookshelf is exactly what I had in mind!

LOVE it!!
I love this room! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the room! Looks like you have another talent besides photography!
I love your pictures! What kind of camera do you have?
We use all Canon professional. I believe these shots were taken with our Canon 5D Mark II.
