I promise I don't say that in a conceited way, in fact, what I mean by that really had nothing at all to do with me. You see... the day was perfect and we grilled out, my parents came over and we had a great time. But the best part about the day... well that had everything to do with why we celebrate Father's! The moments you'll see below are 110% candid and not staged. They are real life moments between a father and a daughter... a daddy's girl to be truthful! Richard offered to go rock Katherine Grace to sleep for a nap about mid-day yesterday. I snapped this quick pic of him, because I thought it was so sweet, especially since it was Father's Day!
Then... about 30 minutes later as I was sitting down playing on the internet... I started to wander where on earth he was and what was taking so long. So, I walked down the hall and turned the corner... and this my friends is what I saw!
Our precious baby wrapped so sweetly in her daddy's arms. Both were sound asleep and I about died on the inside with soooo much joy in my heart. Richard was all that and more that I ever prayed for in a husband... and the more... well that was the daddy in him! I never dreamed of being with a man who would be so completely in love with our children, the way he is. He adores her, and lavishes her with the sweetest love, care and protection that all dads should give to their children. Thank you Richard... I know these will be treasured for many many years!
Although this angle was 'oh so' sweet... I had to get in closer but knew I would wake them up. But nope... they both stayed sound asleep as I grew in closer for some even sweeter shots!
Well, there you have it! My sweet husband's first ever, memorable Father's Day! What a sweet sweet gift! I love you for the wonderful man and husband you are to me, but also to the wonderful daddy you are to Katherine Grace! I cannot wait to celebrate many more in the years to come!
Until then... Brantley

Absolutely beautiful and moving pictures!
I'm looking for pictures of adopted kids (with or without all the siblings) with a patriotic flair to them to post on www.wearegraftedin.com for the 4th of July. If you have any you wouldn't mind contributing, let me know! We'd love it! Thanks!
